Go-Kart Simulator Design

Refreshing an old design for a new set of customers

Our client already had an existing product, but wanted it updating and refreshing to offer their customers a better product.

They sold go-kart simulator hardware and software packages for aspiring racing enthusiasts. The original design was made from aluminium extrusions and box section – very functional but not very immersive. Our client wanted this simulator rig updating to look and feel more like a real go-karting experience.

We took a standard go-kart chassis and integrated all of the existing hardware. We also added functionality by designing custom brackets to allow full adjustability. The same chassis can be used from small children up to large adults.

This significantly reduced manufacturing costs for the client, allowing them to offer a single product with common components rather than multiple different versions for different sizes. This is also more appealing to their customers as a single product can last a lifetime rather than having to buy new products when a child outgrows the existing one.

We also designed a new fully adjustable pedalbox that allows the positioning and ergonomics to be fine tuned for the user. The pedal design also closely replicated the feel of real go-kart to give an accurate simulation.

We have experience in lots of different industries, but we have a real passion for automotive engineering and racing. We’d love to hear about your automotive projects.
